William P. Short III, Vice President, Power Marketing, Ridgewood Power Management LLC
William P. Short III is Vice President—Power Marketing of Ridgewood Power Management, the operating arm of the Ridgewood Companies. Mr. Short has 30 years of experience in the electric utility, independent power, and investment banking industries. Mr. Short is a nationally recognized expert on marketing renewable power in deregulated power markets, including the requirements for qualifying imported power as renewable energy. He participated in the development of Renewable Portfolio Standards for the states of California, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York and Rhode Island. He was a major participant in the development and implementation of the NEPOOL Generation Information System, the nation’s most comprehensive generation tracking system for renewable energy and air emissions.
While at Kidder, Peabody (now UBS Financial Services), he participated in the financing of generating assets, including biomass, geothermal, small hydroelectric, and landfill gas power plants. At the beginning of deregulation in the United States, he represented several institutional investors in the restructuring of the California electricity markets. He worked for Philadelphia Electric Company (now Exelon Corp.) and EBASCO Services (now a part of Raytheon) as a Project Engineer on the design and engineering of central station power plants.
Mr. Short holds a Masters of Business Administration (Finance and Accounting) degree from New York University, as well as undergraduate and graduate degrees in Electrical Engineering from Duke University and the University of Pennsylvania, respectively. |
