Jed M. Nosal, Assistant Attorney General, Chief, Office of Ratepayer Advocacy, Office of Attorney General Martha Coakley

Jed M. Nosal is the Chief of the Office of Ratepayer Advocacy (formerly the Energy and Telecommunications Division) in the Office of Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley. Mr. Nosal is responsible for advising Attorney General Coakley for carrying out her common law duty to represent the public interest and to enforce public rights in utility matters as well represent Massachusetts consumers before state and federal energy and telecommunication regulators pursuant.

Prior to joining Attorney General Coakley’s Office in March of 2007, Mr. Nosal was the General Counsel to the Massachusetts Department of Telecommunications and Energy and prior to that served as a senior administrator and policy advisor in the Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on energy related matters as the Deputy Director and Chief of Staff. Mr. Nosal has held numerous other positions is state and municipal government including Deputy Legal Counsel to Governor Jane Swift and staff counsel to both the State and Boston Police Departments.

Mr. Nosal is a graduate of Union College in Schenectady, New York and received his law degree from New England School of Law in Boston.
