John Norden, Manager, Renewable Resource Integration, ISO New England
John Norden is the Manager of Renewable Resource Integration where he is responsible for ensuring the reliable and efficient implementation of demand and renewable resources into system and market operations at the ISO. Given growing regional and national policy goals to increase renewable power supply, this position will be critical to achieving these goals in a manner consistent with reliable power system operations and efficient market operations.
John’s experience in both system and market operations makes him uniquely qualified for this important role. He has held several positions of increasing responsibility in system operations including: System Operator, Shift Supervisor, Control Room Supervisor, and Manager of Operations Training, Documentation and Compliance.
John has also been in key roles in market operations. Most recently, John served as the Manager of Market Administration where he was responsible for the operation of the energy and ancillary service markets within New England. John was also an integral member of the project teams that implemented the Interim Wholesale Electricity Markets in New England in 1999 and was the System Operations Project Manager for Standard Market Design implementation in New England in 2003.
Overall John has over 24 years of electric utility experience within New England. He began his career with Fitchburg Gas and Electric in 1983 and worked as an Energy Production Supervisor. He then joined New England Power Service Company in 1987 as a REMVEC Control Center System Operator.
John holds a B.S.B.A. and is a NERC Certified System Operator at the Reliability Authority level. |
