  Chairman Thomas B. Getz, New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission

Thomas B. Getz was appointed Chairman of the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission on October 11, 2001. He has worked in the utility arena for over twenty-five years. During that time, he was a Special Assistant to the New York Public Service Commission, Intervenor Attorney for the New York Consumer Protection Board, Corporate Counsel for Public Service Company of New Hampshire, and Executive Director of the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission.

Chairman Getz graduated from Holy Cross College with a BA in Political Science and he holds a JD from the Franklin Pierce Law Center as well as a Master of Public Administration from the University of New Hampshire. He served in the US Army as an Interrogator and Chinese Linguist with Military Intelligence.

In addition to his duties as Chairman of the PUC, he serves as Chairman of the Nuclear Decommissioning Finance Committee and Vice-Chair of the Site Evaluation Committee. He is also a member of the Telecommunications Planning and Development Advisory Committee, the Energy Policy Commission, and the Advisory Council on Emergency Preparedness and Security.
